Objective

Experience

2007: Computer Programmer - Rogers Software

Helped write an MVC Framework in PHP5 for a Hair Salon Point-of-sale software package called SuperSalon. Directly worked with Regis Inc. to meet requirements, fix bugs, and develop the software to their specifications. Worked extensively in Javascript and PHP5 to develop an intuitive web interface with a MySQL backend.

2006-2007: Information Systems Professional - University of Alaska, Fairbanks

Computer Programming and Systems Administration for the GINA Project. Main objective was the development of a undergraduate research database powered by Ruby on Rails. Other tasks included network programming using Ruby, Linux system installation, computer hardware assembly, database administration, and computer lab management.

2005-2006: Student Assistant - University of Alaska, Fairbanks

Student employee for the GINA Project. Tasks included computer lab management, Linux system assembly and support, database administration, Ruby scripting, some Ruby on Rails development, and network programming.

2003-2004: Resident Assistant - University of Alaska, Fairbanks

Resident Assistant for UAF Residence Life. I worked with a diverse group of about 50 students on my floor, making sure they were succeeding in life and in their studies, and providing a role model and a catalyst for positive social interaction within the residence hall community.

Received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in September, 2006. Major GPA: 3.5, Overall GPA: 3.2

2002: Klawock High School

GPA: 3.94 - I was the Student Council President, a School Board Student Representative, and graduated Valedictorian.

• Programming experience in a variety of languages including Ruby, Perl, Python, Haskell, C, C++, BF, PHP, Javascript, and BASH
• Linux Systems Management including Ubuntu, Fedora Core, Redhat, Gentoo, Centos, and others.
• Experience with services and servers such as Apache, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, OpenLDAP, Webrick, Mongrel, Oracle, rsync and sshd
• Dedicated Subversion user and repository administrator
• Familiar with encryption and Internet security (GnuPG, SSH, PGP)
• Experience with Virtualization with VMware, QEmu, some Xen, some UML.
